Ah, the joys of having an office in Belfast!
I have just had a senior manager at our office in Dublin ask if we planned to do any form of risk assessment for our staff in Belfast in relation to the ongoing "flags protests".
One control measure springs to mind, avoid the protest!
Arrgggggg!

What a shame. One of the most attractive place I've ever been on holiday to.
Great road racing.
Shame you can't round up the bigots from both sides and make them walk the causway to Scotland.

We have a few premises over there - simple sensible guidance is adequate. These good people have lived through this for many years what are we supposed to tell them sat over here with a clip board?
Brilliant place fantastic people - it’s a joy to go there - I recommend it to anyone once this dust settles of course.

I go there fairly regularly, as I love the mild climate and arid landscape. :) No it is lovely and I am even taking a short break there in the spring
If you want advice about travel and a staff RA, - and in the absence of any obvious web information- you won't go far wrong in contacting the Northern Ireland Office

Thankyou for the complementary emails, Belfast and the rest of our little country is beautiful.
My post was a little tongue in cheek. I am a native of the city of half a century and the point I made to the manager that raised the question here in Dublin (where I work - still living in Belfast) was that trying to tell staff in Belfast about protests and riots was like trying to tell an Italian how to make pizza!
Its something we have grown up with unfortunately.
And as a biker (used to be hairy!) I couldn't agree more with Safetrain - road racing is brill!
