I stayed in a hotel at the weekend and decided to bring the kids to the pool. At the pool one instructor was giving a water baby aerobics class to 4 mothers and their babies. She had a stereo on an extension lead running to the side of the pool. I highlighted this danger to the member of staff to which I got a reply of " its not in the pool". Undeterred I spoke with the leisure centre manager who informed me that she would 'speak with the instructor' but continued to wander around tidying the notice board.
I eventually spoke with the hotel manager who said she would bring it up at their weekly management meeting.
In the time I was there nobody took any action such as to remove the stereo or insert batteries instead of electricity.
Why don't people think before carrying out crazy actions? Why did none of the parents complain? And why wont people listen when you try to tell them the dangers of what they are doing?
I took my kids away much to their disappointment.

Rant over, back to work!

I had that kind of problem in a very well known toy store near me. Who have a habit of storing trollies in the unattended checkouts, leaving only 1 aisle to go through, even though the barriers distinctly say 'emergency exit do not obstruct', evidently in an attempt to reduce unwanted traffic through the unattended checkouts..... the manager looked at me gone-out when I mentioned it to him that surely keeping clear included trollies......

Shake your head, roll your eyes to the sky and just walk away.....

Take a picture. Ask for the name of the manager. Tell the manager that you intend to report it to the HSE if the matter is not sorted out with immediate effect. Send the picture to a 'safe house' just in case

Zimmy,
It was a swimming pool so was not going to take out my camera for fear of swarms of police! Did tell the hotel manager that I felt I was not been taken seriously and would report the incident but was assured that it would be dealt with. I just felt so exasperated and angry I left.
