Hello everybody, As stated in the subject, is there a special training in ship repair safety?? I am working in a Dry Dock company and looking for training in health and safety in dry docks and ship repair business. I tried to find some but I couldn't. If any one can help me I will be grateful. Many thanks to all of you

Hi Rismaili - have you tried having a browse through the US - NIOSH material? Outside of that there really is very little formal material available; although you could also try some of the other EU countries national web-sites with dry dock facilities. If you get really stuck, drop me a line. Frank Hallett

Thank you Frank for your response. What I am looking for actually is a well defined and structured course specified for safety in dry docks and ship repair industries. I found some 5-days courses in Singapore but still looking for other options. If you could guide me it will be kindness from you. R.Ismaili

There is an organisation which specialises in port safety. However, their website primarily aims at the workings of a port, rather than shiprepair. However, they are continuously expanding their role so may be worth a chat. http://www.portskillsandsafety.co.uk/
