Personally I'm not aware of any at the moment but you could try Gavin at Area North training or Gordon at Seaham Safety Services. The thing about accident investigation for me is that its very subjective so I've not been impressed by some of the course that I've seen running. I was very lucky in that when I went through my NEBOSH training at South Tyneside College and then an MSc at University of Sunderland, I had good tutors who had spent hands-on time in the industry doing the role. The experience to me is far more valuable than text-book procedures and I learned a lot from them. Certainly there are protocols and procedures that everyone should follow, namely making sure that first and foremost you're safe and the environment that you're operating in is. However beyond that I've seen how the police investigate an incident and corporate manslaughter cases and their protocols for gathering evidence are poles apart from how its typically done within an office or factory environment so you really need to get someone who has a varied background in investigation to get something thats worth paying for. Keep asking around and try and get a few opinions and reviews of courses before you book up with anyone. Alternatively I know South Tyneside College used to do an online course with NCFE and that takes you through the basic principles if you just need a quick grounding. If you're interested contact Tony Shepperd at STC. Hope this helps! Glenn
