Recently the outcome from my company Audits states that employees were not well communicated in terms of risks associated in working in Commissioned areas. I am at a CCGT Power Plant turning from Construction to Commissioning. May those with experience in Commissioning phase of a Power Plant advice me if Point to Work Risk Assessment helps to improve such communication.?

Constructed and commissioned a 600MW CCGT plant in the past. Risk assessments were completed with the commissioning team for each distinct phase. The key communications for the site however was completed in the following way: 1. Daily commissioning meeting 08.00 each day with all contractors site management attending. This way we could inform them of restrictions to particular areas. 2. Commissioning site plan showing a station layout with commissioning areas marked up daily. Posted up following the aforementioned meeting. 3. Commissioning areas were clearly marked / designated. 4. Briefing to all staff before we moved into commissioning as to the risks and measures to avoid them. This was included in the site induction as we moved into commissioning. Anyone working in a commissioning area should be briefed on the relevant risk assessment and permit to work on a daily basis. Hope this helps. Jonty

KOBE PoWRA is not about communication of risk but rather is about the operatives/engineers reviewing the task risk assessment at the point of doing work. Jonty is rightly pointing out the benefits of general daily communication of work RAs for the day ahead - this is not PoWRA Bob
