Hello,

do barrel trailers that carry 209 litres barrels have to have a trailer board on with lights fitted.
our fleet guy says no as it doesnt obscure the rear van lights but is he wrong?

I believe there is a distance threshold that kicks in, as well as a consideration of whether the trailer obscures the tow vehicle lights.

See http://www.legislation.g.../1796/regulation/21/made

The trade association also look helpful
