I have a filing cabinet full of Safety publications going back as far even as the mid-90s. I've probably an OCD with regards keeping them, but being aware much (in a legal sense) may by now be out of date, if not the principles within them, I'm in the mood to recycle them. (I certainly never needed to refer to them when I was in a Safety role and I'm currently unemployed. The publications consist of older ACOPs and HSE pubs // Croners publications and pamphlets (e.g. special reports on specifics like Sick Building Syndrome - from 1996) and their fortnightly newsletters. Also a copy the 2004, 13th Ed of Croner's The Law of Health and Safety at Work and some NEBOSH training aids or course work notes etc. Would someone please bolster, or augment my belief that one can now find an "answer to all things online", from either this website or the HSE's and that if I've not refered to them much in the last decade I'm not going to need them in the next! Yours in anticipation of not drowning in paper.... Rob
PS: I do keep some articles from IOSH monthly mag, and index them. Even though such are more up to date, do I need to do this, or does "on-line" still apply?

Rob - I was in a position similar to yourself just recently when we were relocated to a new office location, the mantra for which was minimal paper. We had 3 wallshelves (each about 10feet long) and 3 x 4 drawer filing cabinets to dispose of from our old office and after much deliberation - it all (apart from current copies of acops and purchased documents like IEE regs) went to recycling. I can honestly say that we have not missed it as there is so much available on line (or on here!).

Thanks chaps. I'll be sure to try staying focused when I open the cabinet and start wanging much of it into our green recycle box. (Am sure it's gonna be sooooooo hard)!!! Tks again.
