Dear all Is there anyone out there who has ample experience with the above subject? Or, anyone who could point me in the right direction with regards to publications and guidance. I have a few buildings (local authority) which have these lines installed at low level (20cm in height). Is there a minimum distance these lines should be installed? At each corner of the building they cut across each corner of the building and where the line runs across the corner i.e touches the edge. The rest of the building it is roughly 2 meters from the edge (this is this distance I am used to seeing these installed at). I have another building where the safety line is installed all the way along the edge of the building at waist height, along the edge of the building. Is this acceptable? Lastly, is there a training course industry recognized that users of these types of line are to be sent on? All your comments will be greatly appreciated.

Apologies for grammar and repeating of sentences. Writing on a train using an iPhone is somewhat frustrating. :-)

BS 7883: 2005 and BS EN 795 for starters. There are some good commercial companies and some decent websites, e.g. hclsafety (others are available etc.)

Thanks Ron, Decided to call a specialist in for this one and tai experience alongside these guys. We can't be experts in everything but we can try to be by learning from others. I sourced these documents you have mentioned which is great stuff but they do not seem to answer my concerns. It may be that I am being over cautious on this one but I have always worked with the mindset that if it doesn't look right then there is probably a reason why. All the best
