Hi all,
I am looking for some information regarding lightning protection. A client is proposing to install a down connector into a cavity wall to reduce the possibility of copper theft. The original design was the conductor to be fixed to the outside of the building. My gut reaction is that this would present a potential fire hazard in the cavity in the event of a lightning strike (given the polystyrene insulation boards and also breaching through the cavity closer), and would also make inspection of the lightning protection system impossible. I cannot find any authoritative guidance on the subject.
I'm sure that some of this forums contributors will have encountered this before: your advice would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
