This CoP appears at first read to relate purely to 'The construction industry' however the definition of a 'Designer' covers 'those who have a trade or business which involves them in: preparing designs for .....operational designs and layout........' further it also includes 'other consultants (of whatever discipline) My query is would the responsibilities under this CoP extend to those people involved in business other than "Construction" ........ for instance, those involved in the preparation of layouts & designs for an exhibition, a musical event, a sporting event, a public gathering, a fashion show and similar types of business that is not in the strictest definition of the word "Construction" It seems that much of this CoP draws guidance from the UK CDM regs and I would be interested to get other peoples view on its application in other areas of business Grateful for any input/view
