Hi all I watched a video on stress many years ago (it had a big impact, but not big enough for me to recall what it was called :) ) I think it was about an NHS manager in a smear test clinic in the 80s - it might have been a panorama type programme? It was about the amount of false negatives they experienced and his (fruitless) efforts to combat it - which resulted in a breakdown... Anyone any ideas or was it a dream? I think I recall him being angry at a washing machine in one scene - now this really might be dream territory ?

Hi, I have a video called " The Pressure is on" by the BBC, It does somthing similar from memory top what you describe. It may be on the BBC's current DVD list? hope this helps. Ian

Thanks Ian Sounds like we're on the right lines - but that titles gives no results on the BBC website Google or YouTube :( hmmmmmm The internet must know it...

I too have a dim and distant memory of such a video/DVD clip. I also have a vague feeling that it could have been included in the IOSH Healthcare Managing Safely pack. I will be able to check this when I am back at my normal base tomorrow, unless anyone else has a copy of the original pack to check.

Hi there, I was relieved to discover that my memory is still good after all these years of H&S! I have found the video and it is from the BBC Learning - Business on TV. It was called A Cancer in the System and it was in the IOSH Healthcare Managing Safety pack. Not sure if it is available on DVD but I have the original video that I am guessing can be easily put onto a disc? IOSH may still have the original video or already have put it onto DVD Hope this helps. Lynne
