Quick question, do new fire escape doors need any certification, commissioning etc?

Yes. They should meet the requirements of BSEN 1624-1 when installed so should come with certification to this standard. They then need to be installed correctly to be effective. The manufacturers should provide clear installation, testing and maintenance for the doors.

Also remember the door casing also needs to be of the same standard.
