Working from a bosun's chair on steel cables

Good Morning All,
I am looking for some advice as the area concerned is something I have no real knowledge about.
We are employing a silo cleaning company to complete some internal silo cleaning. The company are using a bosun's chair attached to a man riding hoist via a steel cable and the operator is attached to a separate steel cable on another system.
My area of concern is that the company have trained their employees in confined space, harness use and working at height but there is no training for working from a steel cable or even use. Is there any formal training required to any standard or would it be down to individual company policy.
Thanks in advance
Gavin

Hi Gavin
There are man riding courses available I believe, but if the person is familiar with WAH and rescue procedures, secondary retention is in use, then I would say it's really a competency and experience issue. If the RA and procedure has all the ducks lined up in terms of secondary retention, rescue plan, etc then it sounds like a fairly competent operation.
See what anyone else on the comes back with......
