How many safety advisors/ managers chair the health and safety committees at their places of work?

It's a senior management position at my workplace. Safety bods are only co-opted to support/advise the management/reps discussions.

I think it’s bad practice for the H&S professional to chair the H&S committee. We get the Director of Operations to do this.

If the Site Manager isn't Avilable or the Operations Manager then it falls to myself. (Although I pretty much lead it when they are there!)
I am also part of the Senior Management Team.

I tend to organise them, ensures they go ahead, but Departmental Heads/Senior Managers are the appointed chairs to the meeting. For some of them I also tend to direct the discussions and debate. If they cannot make it then I would chair in their absence but this is not that often.

Similar to above
At least 3 from the senior management team was required. I was considered part of the senior management. We also had the Works Director or Works Manager, Maintenance manager or Officer, And the MD whenever he could (99%) and sometimes HR. Then there would be about 5 employee reps. MD or Works Director Chaired the meeting (if not it was me).
