In accordance with our Driving and Vehicle Safety Policy and Procedure we have arranged for minibus driver training to be provided to all departmental drivers. However, we have a small number of staff that will need to complete the D1 licence test first as they passed their licence after January 1997.
I had a request for information from one department re the costs of the theory and practical test. However, I seem to be unable to find the exact cost of this. Has anyone recently completed a D1 licence that are able to give me an idea as to the cost of this?
Thanks
L

I have not been involved in this for a while but i believe the theory is £50 and the practical £115.
Although you didn't ask there is also the medical £85 (ish).
Tuition costs and time undergoing training (if relevant to your organisation) depend on who you use.

Hi J
you do not elaborate on the nature of your business and the role of the drivers, however if you have not done so already you may need to consider the requirement for the drivers to hold a "driver qualification card" (DQC)
All D and D1 licence holders need to have this card to drive professionally. I am sure the DSA will be able to advise you on how (if at all) this requirement will apply to your drivers.
Category D and D1 licence holders have until Sept this year to complete the training (new licence applicants need to complete the training before getting a licence) After this date without a card you cannot drive professionally.
It is more than likely that it will not apply, but worth checking out if not already done so
