After evacuating a building via the final exit door, the only escape route is along the perimeter of a single storey building - no windows in one direction only for approx 50 metres, my question is, is there a maximum travel distance in one direction requirement for external escape routes, before an alternative is required, the width of the external escape route is approx 2 metres. thanks SBH

Hi You would need to determine this in your fire risk assessment. You can get guidance on this that was produced by the Department for Communities and Local Government. They have detailed guidance on escape routes. You should be able to pick this up from a Google search. If not PM me. Ian
