Foundation in Safety? No, just a stepping stone to actually getting the certificates.
I have 6 and 1 pending. So far no luck with a job, so now I'm considering an environmental auditing qualification too.

http://forum.iosh.co.uk/...spx?g=posts&t=108667I found this link, it doesn't answer the question and I am like you, I don't know where to get the info, so my suggestion is simple, telephone IEMA and ask them what certificate they accept to give you status. I'm phoning tomorrow, I'll report back and post something sometime.

IEMA -- Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment. Register with the website for IEMA at: http://www.iema.net/IEMA, Training Department, Telephone Number at: 01522-540-069. After reading their web site and listening to their videos about membership and telephoning their very helpful staff, people who wish to obtain IEMA accreditation should go through their steps becoming an Affiliate member first for £99.00 and then starting a Foundation course (more money), after this is completed you become an Associate member. On their website there is a list of companies and individuals who can teach the prescribed syllabus. The foundation course is essentially 80 hours of bookwork, often spread out. So to answer the earlier comments, YES, the foundation course is the bare minimum to be accredited and allows you to add letters to your name - like IOSH does.

Thanks for the information, however in my opinion it is just a money making scheme if I can do the diploma without upgrading all the time that is the route I am taking. Any thoughts

Hi Derek
I am just in the process of starting training with IEMA. I work for a very large company and have a separate training department. I have researched also, and have found the following: IEMA is like the IOSH of the environ'mental' world.
The foundation cert is a good place to start if you have no experience at all in the environ'mental' industry. As I have been working around the industry my training department have recommended that I do the associate certificate as this is the minimum qualification my company asks for people dealing with environ'mental' management.
I did ask about the NEBOSH environ'mental' diploma and my training department recommended against it as it does not hold any weight or training on practical scenarios in the environ'mental' world. I wasn't happy with this (being from the health and safety world) so I phoned IEMA and they stated that they did not accept the NEBOSH Environ/'mental' Diploma.
The only way of completing the IEMA Diploma i.e. the entry is requirements is the associate certificate. So with this in mind, you may just want to skip the foundation certificate and jump straight onto the associate certificate instead.
I hope this helps you in your decision.....Good luck!
