Dear All We have many portable gas monitors of which we get calibrated on a 6 monthly basis. Does anyone know of legislation that requires the user to bump test it daily? Thanks Shaun

No legislation will ever be that specific. there are many different types of detector - I would suggest bump testing should be performed to manufactures guidelines. Sensors I've used in the past can take a long time to recover from a bump test, or can experience shorter life.

I looked into this when a supplier claimed it was a legal requirement, and it isn't. Whether it needs doing is another matter of course!
