If you have a need for fire wardens, based on fire risk assessment, then your provision must work i.e. the wardens need to know what to do , how to do it etc.

In a nutshell no, but you must have persons trained to assist in an evacuation. So the easy catch all for this is to train fire wardens to assist during an evacuation etc.

We have 2 types. WARDENS (generally office based) who lead and assist in evacuations, and MARSHALLS (workshop operatives) who are trained in the use of fire fighting equipment. The legal requirement surely deals with the competency of the individual to undertake these duties.
