Hello,
Anyone have any fantastic fun ideas we can do for safety day at work. We have done quizes, spot the hazard etc. Looking for something a little difference.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated,
Katie

Hi Katie,
A couple of ideas for you from our h&s week last year.
Vehicle safety:
We run a fleet of about 300 vehicles and employ about 850 staff. Because tyre tread is such an important and often overlooked part of road safety we issued all employees, not just the ones with company cars, with a tread depth guage and had demonstrations in the car park of how to use them.
As we were including health as part of the focus during the week we also delivered a fruit and nuts basket to all our depots with a poster from Change 4 Life (run by the NHS) about healthy snacks.
I hope that helps
Carl

Hi Katie
What about running a Health and Welfare day with things like Reiki / Indian Head Massage and a Healthy Eating stall (with free nibbles such as raisin boxes etc)? Could try and get local businesses to offer free sessions as would hopefully bring in business for them so win-win. Could include a fitness challenge (bring in a cycle machine and have time trial sort of thing).
Another option is a treasure hunt (though this does need some prep!). Set a route with things they have to look for and mark off on a sheet...can be safety related e.g. stop sign (what colour is the sign at the end of the road etc). Does help if it's a sunny day and could do as individual or groups with a prize for the quickest team / most correct answers etc...
