Something different. I have just started a new professional who has come come from a major GB based company. They want all plant operarives to produce there driving licence as well as there CPCS card on induction to prove they can drive plant on the road. They accept a licence, no matter what group they hold. My problem is that as we 'authourise' operatives to operate plant we will fall like Nelson should there be an RTC on a public highway(In side the works area or not). Most plant operatives are young and only have a group B1 licenec, so they can not legally drive an articulanted dumper without having the correct civilian driving lecence.. if 'We' are authourisung them to operate plant we will be liabale for permitting use. This is coming from an ex 'Constable'. If any one one has the knowledge of the RTO and can suplly case history even better. I know you can drive articulated HGV in England on an ROI licence granted at age 18 even though you must be 21 to drive an articulated HGV in UK at age 21. I really dont want to go to a stated case in local or European case.
