Can anyone out there enlighten me on this one (no pun intended)
Just been asked by our buildings insurer for a copy of our lightening protection inspection checks.
Anyone give me some advise on this one e.g. legalities, who conducts them (yet another pun) frequency of inspections, who does them etc.
Any info would be helpful

Hi Steve,
Our's get done by the same people who do our fixed wiring inspections. It's every 12 months I belive, if you can get a copy have a look at BS EN 62305-1:2006 Protection against Lightning: General Principles

What is the use of the building and what is being stored would the place to start and whilst 12 monthly is good practice it does not cover the changes in conditions that can affect the test. Better to change the inspections and test you want the system to work and discharge to earth.

Most are not TBH.
