The Legal Aid, Sentencing and Punishment of Offenders Act 2012 (section 85) removes the limits of fines on a Magistrates court:- http://www.legislation.g...k/ukpga/2012/10/contents
Does this apply to Health & Safety offences which I though was currently £20k per offence? Any comments gratefully received!

Ron, section 85 states:-
Where, on the commencement day, a relevant offence would, apart from this subsection, be punishable on summary conviction by a fine or maximum fine of £5,000 or more (however expressed), the offence is punishable on summary conviction on or after that day by a fine of any amount.
However, Peter's comment above shows that only sections 77 and 119 of the act are in force at the moment, so no change in H&S
Thanks Peter - Just goes to show I should read the whole thing!!
