Oh dear....

I don't really mind that RoSPA slipped up with the copyright issue (and well done Warner Bros for letting this one go by) - but I worry that anyone might believe it is possible to dumb down H&S to the level of Harry P and still manage to convey a serious message...
Any thoughts?

I don't think it is dumbing down the seriousness of safety by using the likes of Harry potter but more enticing the target group with something that is popular and appealing to them.
I see 'Simpson safety posters' all the time and people seem to remember more when they laugh than they do when the pictures are horrific.
I use anything I think will get the message across, humour, DVDs, posters, sarcasm, the workforce will normally indicate what they find interesting and what they don't

I have read the guidance from RoSPA using Harry Potter (and another piece using H&S as superheroes) and I found it amusing and effective. It gets across a good message about how to do H&S in an organisation and to be honest it is better than a lot of the boring cant that the HSE come up with.
