Am looking to see if anyone has a policy or best practice guide for management of Children's Play Areas - we have a medium sized play area in one of our housing schemes

Have a look at the ROSPA website there is some good information available; http://www.rospa.com/leisuresafety/playsafety/

Have a look at the Play England website. On the guidance tab there is good stuff re managing risk in play areas etc.

Having read all the auricles/guides noted -ROSPA had made a surprising mistake in their recent guidance, which they are addressing in their next print run after my phone call to them - my advice is to have a very good risk assessment in place as in all cases especially the Play England guide its woolly to say the least Another problem appears to be is the note that designers do not appear to be using these guides when designing play areas so there is no joined up approach
