Please can anyone tell me what is the point of the MAC score sheet when the HSE haven't produced a table or risk matrix to plug the final score into so that you can obtain a risk rating for the task at hand. It is a brilliant tool and please excuse my ignorance if its there and I just haven't seen it but I would like to know if anyone has used it and found this problem. Thanks.

So you can bench mark and priorities all your manual handling risks. What is a safe score? Also a task may only have one area of concern and still score low... etc, etc Don't forget the MAC is just a filter to help identify hazardous handling (beyond the filters in the guidance) and not a full risk assessment as defined in the regulations. In the RRC diploma guidance they DO provide a table of what the scores mean - but I have no idea what there justification is
