Have tired and failed on a search on the forum but does anyone have any experience with the use of these? The work is machine tool minding in a production area and if there was no press noise there would be no objection by the employer to the use of MP3. These muffs have a jack from an MP3 player as well as a radio. http://eardefenders.org/...al-tuning-and-mp3-input/ All arguments about damaging hearing using MP3 aside it would seem that the employer could meet their legal duty under noise at work regs if they provide HP with a suitable SNR ( and I know about the queries re SNR and real level of protection). It potentially becomes a bit sticky in the event of a claim .... was the damage from the iplayer or the machine but if done in conjunction with audiometery I think there may be a possibility? Basically its a boring as anyting job and I am sure most people would prefer to be able to pass the time away....... Just wondering what experience others have of the situation Kind regards Bruce

Maybe I'm old fashioned but I believe that if a guy is doing a Repetitive job (Or any job that generates sound to the threshold that requires hearing protection) and he's listening to music or the radio, that's going to be a distraction from his primary task.
