Welcome back.... probably best you had been away based on some of the recent threads! The urge to crunch those keys would've been to great I reckon :)

Ah well. Not sure if I'm back to stay or not. Maybe a fleeting visit or may hang round for a while. Depends......

Ah well. I can honestly say that my absence was not due to being moderated, rather through my own choice. This forum can be an ugly place. Hence why I'm not sure how long I'll stay!

An ugly place! I hear what you say and would agree it can be at times. I had to come back under a different name it was getting so ugly! I was not one to pull my punches and IMO some posters on here take offence at what can be described as a strong to the point response which often gets moderated. If you want strong healthy debate and maybe not adverse to not getting the response expected (as has happened to me) then this is not the place to be. I now only respond on a selective topic basis with nice touchy feely comments. Anyway, welcome back. Hope you hang around. Judging from your past posts this forum needs people like you.

Seconded, thirded, fourthded, whatever ... I only pop my head round the door once in a while to lurk and see if anything interesting is going on. Comes under my phased retirement plan of becoming less involved.

Thanks all. But judging by recent posts my stay will be very short and sweet. For the record I am not here to intentionally antagonise (ie, lay bait), or be sarcastic. I just wanted to offer opinion and advice. Healthy debate, yes. A humorous dig in the ribs, yes. But personally slagging matches, no. I'm too old and tired for such nonsense. Really I am.

Clairel Welcome back. Hope you'll be offering plenty more postings with incisive/forthright opinions, useful advice and interesting information plus some humour, just as you have done in the past. Also, hope that you won't be starting an even newer thread "Goodbye IOSH Forum" in the foreseeable future. One suggestion for dealing with the antagonisers on this forum is either to delay responding to them or not to respond at all. Though I'm no expert at psychology, I guess that such people derive gratification from provoking people and perpetuating a sequence of rapid tit for tat responses. Declining to respond to them or at least not giving them the quick responses they probably like to receive might significantly reduce their gratification to the extent that they get bored and find something else to do. Graham p.s. Though you clearly give your name as Clairel, some people refer to you as Claire, possibly through incorrected eyesight or echoing what they think they've read rather than what's actually written. Anyhow, have you any preference regarding this aspect?

Clairel, welcome back to the mad house. I also left a good while ago and have to say that was because you and I locked horns a few times, (no you can't lock horns 'cos you don't have them but you know what I mean?) so I did a Reginald Perrin and re-appeared as my alter ego. Whatever, that's all in the past, at least you are brave enough to return as yourself. Friday tomorrow so we can all laugh at ourselves.

Clairel Too old you say ------------- I'm soooooooooooo pleased that the species (Dinosaurs) has an intelligent female amongst its rapidly diminishing pride. Wot - with Victor M and Bob Howden slipping out of the dino directory there are precious few of us left. As VM has stated - keep the faith. Jon

Oh dear :-( Sorry about that. Never my intention to make someone disappear....although I can think of a few people in real life that I would happily have disappear! I don't think I'm being brave returning as Claire. Whilst there may be some that I 'lock horns with' regularly I don't think I've done anything wrong as such. Besides if I change name I'm sure that people would just figure out it was me eventually. I am who I am. Take me or leave me ;-)

Messy/mssy The impression gained from your recent thread 'Messy is now mssy' is that you chose to return as mssy rather than having it imposed on you. Anyhow, at least you no longer have the rank of 'Super forum user'. In my unhumble opinion the rank is a misleading one because some people might wrongly infer from the word 'super' that it implies quality. In fact the rank is purely quantitative to indicate someone who has submitted more than 300 postings!
