Incident Accident investigation (Formal training course)

Hi ,
Could anybody possible advise, hoping to attend a formally recognized Accident Investigation course.
Ideally aimed at the Oil and Gas industry.
Have spoken to OPTIO and there isn't a formally recognised course provider aimed at this discipline.
Any advice would be gratefully received.

Ian, earlier this year I attended an excellent 4-day IOSH approved investigation course run by Ian Langston (Kinaston Associates Ltd). The principles are the same regardless of the actual industry.

I went down the TapRoot route, but there are others such as Kelvin TopSet.

+1 for Kelvin Topset. A lot of the oil related companies use this as it is a very good system based on a logical approach. Can't comment on Tap Root but it is also quite popular as well.

Hi Ian
Different companies use different methodology and having worked for a few I would suggest that first choice would be Kelvin TopSet as most of the big guns already use it. Second would rec Tap Root. both very good and widely available for Open Sessions if you visit the relevant websites, Kelvin topSet and System Improvements and you will be able to book on to courses at various locations.
