trying to get my head around a noise question if you have an area were the staff are subjected to :- A - 84db for 5 minutes an hour continuous B - 88db for 10 minutes an hour 5x 2 minutes sessions C - 70 db for 45 minutes what measures need putting in place and why

http://www.hse.gov.uk/noise/calculator.htm I rounded - task 1 up to one hour exposure = 5 mins x 8 (I am assuming 8 hour shifts and so 8 visits?) I rounded - task 2 up to two hours exposure = 10 x 8 Stick them into the calculator above - what do you get? (I know :) ) So the Noise regulations have two actions levels - where are you? Next step apply a hierarchical approach to control...

I just noticed 'noise question' :) So maybe you should work out the fractions a bit more accurately - I just went for worst case - not a good idea in a exam! You could also use a ready reckoner for and exposure points for this question. and I didn't count the 70dB as noise is a log scale it would be irrelevant.
