I am looking for contract work. In recent weeks different employment agencies have approached me concerning work on a construction project in Greater Manchester. Each has enquired whether I have a “Level 6” qualification.
I took the Modular NEBOSH Diploma in the 1990s. It was not classified at that time. I have consulted NEBOSH and they have advised that “a Diploma is a Diploma”. I have been in this profession for over 20 years and in addition to IOSH membership I am a Fellow member of another organisation. Until recently I was a registered consultant (OSHCR). I have completed an APS accredited course with a view to becoming a registered CDM-C. I have an excellent CDM knowledge. None of this appears to be sufficient for some agencies fixated on Level 6.
I realise that some Clients (CDM) set certain standards for their projects and possibly Level 6 "insistence" falls into this category. I will be interested to learn whether any other Forum users have had similar experiences. I would also welcome any other views please.

I was told by someone down the pub, who has a mate, who's brother said that when the new Dip was set at level 6, the old Dip (pre 2005) was set at level 5.
Not 100% sure so crack on.
