I am a freelance Health & Safety Advisor/Manager. I am a qualified CDM-C (RMaPS).. I have sufficient work for a couple of days per week and I am seeking either a part time contract or interim position or ad-hoc work.

I have worked in this profession for over 20 years and have a varied experience including:

• Regional Safety Officer to a major, central government agency with responsibility for over 130 sites spread across 7 counties;

• Estates Safety Officer at a large NHS hospital dealing with H&S issues in connection with all maintenance activities and also monitoring contractors on a wide range of construction projects;

• Managing H&S on prestigious construction projects – fitout of a new, high rise office block, construction and fitout of a new supermarket, construction and fitout of new school;

• Resident Safety Advisor to various specialist subcontractors on different major engineering projects;

• Peripatetic work carrying out safety inspections and audits on retail refurbishment projects;

• Peripatetic work carrying out safety audits on a variety of civil engineering projects;

• Interim H&S manager at a large acute NHS trust hospital;

• Ad-hoc work for different consultants, mainly construction related;

• Interim work as H&S advisor for two different social housing organisations;

• CDM-C work – F10 submission, preparation of H&S plan, advice and guidance on competency issues, vetting of O&M manuals, preparation of H&S file etc.

In addition to H&S qualifications I also hold a FE teacher’s certificate. I have experience of:

• Design and delivery of various, in-house H&S courses;

• Delivery of CSCS courses and various elements of NEBOSH NGC.
