I wonder if anyone has come across problems with operatives being exposed to solvents and noise resulting in them suffering NIHL.

I was certainly not aware of this problem

Mick, I first came across this issue in the early 2000's while working for a petrochemical company. I believe it was referred to at the time as "Danish Painters Syndrome". There were studies at the time linking VOC content of paints with hearing loss, but importantly these were not 'noise induced' losses. Lost touch with the issue in 2006 when I moved out of the industry.
