What happened to the progress of the Health and Safety (Directors' Duties) Bill? Regards Yul

It died a swift and apathetic death. Only to be replaced by ‘Leading Health and Safety at Work' in 2007 - voluntary guidance written by the Institute of Directors (IoD), in conjunction with the HSE. It's not quite dead but is on life support last I heard. '...the Company Directors' (Health and Safety) Bill was introduced to Parliament but dropped in July 2003, only to be later taken up as a Private Member's Bill, albeit slightly amended, by Stephen Jarrow MP. This Bill failed on its second reading in March 2005. Although all 28 votes cast were in favour of the Bill, it did not win the 40 votes needed to move on to the next stage, as fewer than 40 MPs were present to vote.' http://www.shponline.co....659538?p_p_auth=CYS8aCHi
