Dear friends, Recently we experienced an eye irritation by grinding spark to one of our contractor employee when he was performing a grinding task in site. He was wearing face shield attached with hard hat while performing the task. During our incident investigation, multiple suggestions raised and we stuck with one question and I need your suggestions on it. Do we need to wear a safety glass/goggles together with face shield during a grinding task? What is as per standard? Thanks for your replay in advance. Regards

Hello Yes Safety Goggles and face sheild are standard kit for any grinding tasks on our site, We have had to introduce this measure as we found that whilst wearing face sheild and safety glasses we still had an incident where our person had metal particles in the eye, This made us introduce goggles instead of glasses as an extra precaution, Since we have updated the RA we have had no incidents. Cheers Wilmac,

Similar to Eldhose, we had a chap grinding but he was wearing safety specs, according to the RA/MS. A spark bounced off his cheek and went in his eye. We changed to using goggles but I'm pretty sure we don't use face visors...
