Calling all construction colleagues.....
Would anyone have a template which they'd be willing to share please which might cover smaller projects as well as larger construction activities?
I know there are the usual freebees online, but they seem a little bland.
All or any offers appreciated.

Hi Max, or is Mr Payne, I have a couple that some of the big players use but essentially they mostly follow the prescribed script. You are more than welcome to them if you can pm an email address.

Bland, Max? The CPP should be concise, relevant, informative and Project specific (and the ACoP gives the template).
Difficult to raise that utilitarian toparticularly exciting levels, and the real skill is in using language to suit the intended reader.
Best I can suggest beyond that is using a decent font (arial 12pt min.) and some decent headers, formatting and line spacing.
But you already know all that Max.

Max,
Wearing my CDM-C hat, when assessing the CPP on behalf of the Client, it is appendix 3 of the ACOP which I and most CDM-Cs use as the assessment model. As a general rule, if it doesn’t follow the detail within that specification, don’t use it as it is not worth the extra time and work justifying how the CPP meets the criteria.

I'd expect the CDM-C to be less concerned with format. He should be concerned that the plan is suitably developed to enable the construction phase to commence and specifically that all the significant and unusual Project-specific risks identified in his pre-construction information have been adequately addressed by the PC.
A well-structured PCI document can essentially dictate the response format within the CPP.

Ron you lead nicely into a question I recently posed re the CPP and does the CDM C check the contractor's RA/MS?
Otherwise how do you know if the PC has addressed the risks?

firesafety, you need to check the response to the specifics raised in your PCI, whether that response takes the form of narrative, R/A, MS or some or all of these.
I would not expect the CDM-C to be poring over the more mundane and general stuff unless the Client specifically requests you to?

Ron I can see that if you ask for specific RA/MS you will get them and then have to check them, but if you don't ask for them you don't have to check them.
As far as duties and responsibilities go it is up to the PC to provide and monitor RA/MS. If the Initially provided CPP is adequate then that's the end of the advising responsibility.
