Good Morning and merry Xmas to all, does anyone have a method statement for loading mains cable drums onto a wagon, flat bed etc. Thank you.

Whay sort of cable drum is it? How big? Estimated weight etc? Your post lack information/detail. How about 1. Ensure crane and lorry are positioned in an area sufficiently clear of obstructions 2. Ensure the cable on the cable drum is secure - eg the cable can't unwind and flap around 3. Select a suitable lifting attachement for the drum. 4. Draw up a suitable lift plan LOLER) - assuming you need a crane. 5. Lift the cable drum on to the lorry. Secure the cable drum to the lorry 6. Use trained and competent people 7. De-rig the crane 8. Ensure all involved use wear appopriate PPE? 9. Would you like somebody to do your job for you? 10. That will be £500 for my time and effort to dream up a generic MS. Sorry no idea what your local hazards might be - the batteries to my crystal ball have gone flat.

Or, as an alternative to JJ, hows about one of them forklifts with a drum spike fitted instead of the forks? I'll take £250 as JJ did most of the work ;-) (Given my previous post on another thread this reply is delivered with a big smile and a friendly nod, no attempt to wind up or annoy here) Jim
