Does anyone know were I can find information about securing them to a platforms whilst in transit. We have skip lorries which carry one on the lorry and then one on a trailer. Effectively towing it. My question is how should it be secured, what is the legal criteria. Thanks in anticipation.

Can I guess? Do your skips contain something dangerous, like say Asbestos? If it does, as far as I know it's simply a padlock and a warning sign - as far as I know. (and I would suggest the driver is given a bag containing a noddy suit, gloves, sticky tape, mask -- in case you have an incident / accident and training to know what to do. Also spare road warning signs). (Same as HAZMAT loads). http://www.hse.gov.uk/asbestos/regulations.htm The only other thing I can suggest is that the skips are chained into place under tension using ratchet chains - so they don't fall off your flatbed or trailer. Happy New Year.
