Good evening,

Can anyone confirm if there is a legal minimum age for school work experience trainees? Generally 14/15 year olds take part in the WE programme, however would there be in any issue with a 13 year old?

I can see no reference to minimum age in the HSE website, nor does MHSAW Regs specify. Possibly employment law may prohibit 13 years olds?

Looking at a 5 day, 9-5 placement.

Any help would be appreciated.

I've only assessed 15/16 year olds but -

is useful.

Good luck!
