Hello, I'm having a little difficulty in pin-pointing some HSE Guidance such as an INDG of HSG on recording Non-RIDDOR reportable accidents. Our company policy is to record ALL accidents but I'm struggling to show something in black and white other than Reg 24 + 25 of the Social Security (Claims and payments) regs 1979; the implied requirement of Regulation 5 of the MHSWR 1999; and some regurgitated text from my Diploma books.

Any help out there?

In my view, it is MHSWR Regulation 5 that can be used as the basis ( if you need one!) for not onlt recording, but proportionate investigation and follow up of all accidents you refer to.

There was an HSE Discussion Document on "proposals for a new duty to investigate accidents, dangerous occurrences and diseases" in 2001. It has some of the legislation background.

The summary of the HSE Response is at:-

Good morning Adale

The revised, HSE web-based HSG65 should help considerably. Personally, I still prefer the previous "all-in-one" document.
