Does anybody know if crane lift mortar tubs come with individual thorough examination? We just took delivery of some and have no documentation.
Thanks.

Thanks for reply Alex.
Why do they not have SWL stated on them and a tag as per LOLER requirements.

Hi Fitzy, they will only need certs if the handles are being used to lift them, if they are being wrapped with slings or being lifted by pallet forks then they will only need a PUWER/LOWLER inspection. Like many other bits of kitt on site that get lifted it can be nearly impossible to get them all certified so lifting techniques will usually remove the necessity. All my humble oppinion of course. Good luck.

After a bit of research and reading the good all HSE website, I have got the answer. The tubs do not come under LOLER as they are classed as a load and designed for such. Will need to be inspected as per PUWER.
