An employee is working away and the company has provided and paid for a hotel. The employee has fell over in the hotel and injured their knee and can not work.
Would this become RIDDOR reportable if he is off for the specified time?

As with many of the RIDDOR questions on this forum, there are a number of simple test questions that will help you answer the question

Was your employee injured in connection with his work activity?

If his job is to visit hotels and inspect them, and he was injured whilst working, then that would be a yes on that one and you would then move on to ask the next question..... eg type of injury that would make it reportable.

If it is a no, then that is it! - it cannot be reportable by you his employer - you may wish to record it using your own internal systems.

It may be reportable by the Hotel if your employee went to hospital as a result of injury sustained by their work activity or faults to their property (viewing your guy as a member of the public).

Have a look at the guide to the Regulations, it will answer you question.
