Hi
I was wondering would anyone know where I could get an in depth analysis of training trends across the construction industry? As in how much is spent across the board? Cost break downs for individual contractors etc.
I would really appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction in regards to a study perhaps which may have been carried out in this field.
Thanks

Hi Patrick
I'm not sure that there is any central, accessible source for the answers to your question - extremely good one though!
I would start by requesting CITB to provide their figures!
After that, what about requesting CSCS and other similar commercial organisations to provide theirs.
After that, perhaps you could persuade the major Contracting organisations to divulge their training figures.
After all, they should all be really proud to display what they're doing to make construction activities safer.
Please keep us all posted on how you get on - or not.

The level of reliability and validity of any data that claim to be comprehensive for the construction sector would be open to doubt.
Nonetheless, if you can reach any of these sources and persuade them of ways in which you offer mutual benefit, that may be as good as you can get:
Ms. F. Sherratt, Bolton University
Philip or Ciaran MacAleenan, ExpertEase, Co. Down, Northern Ireland
Dr Tony Boyle, HASTAM
