Morning all
Just a quick one -
what does Cert PFS mean after a name; and
what does GIFIRe mean also after a name?
both in respect of carrying out a Fire Risk Assessment.
Cheers

Hi Rich
No idea on the Cert PFS.
GFIRe = Graduate of the Institute of Fire Engineers. [or Generally Insecure and Frightened of Experts!!]

Hi Rich
Regarding ‘what does Cert PFS mean after a name’
as a stepping stone you could try:
http://www.localinstitut.../tabid/4735/Default.aspx
quoted from the web site “Qualified members who have completed a Certificate level qualification. This is equivalent to an A-level. Other versions of the CII designation are available to claims practitioners; mortgage practitioners; people who work in the life, pensions and investments industry and people who work in the London market, who have completed the relevant exams and belong to the appropriate faculty.”
Cheers

What has all things financial got to do with Fire Risk Assessments?
On my FRA completed by a consultancy it states that the FRA was prepared by:
AN Other GIFIRe (which as Frank says means Graduate of the Institute of Fire Engineers); and
Written by
AN Other Cert PFS
I don't get the connection unless AN Other Cert PFS is employed in admin and just typed up the report.

Have you tried asking the FRA Report producer Rich?
After all, if you've paid them good money to produce this; they should be able to explain the relevance of individual qualifications.
Maybe it's someone who had a career change and the "title" has been retained to look good?

I am GIFire E - Graduate of the Institution of Fire Engineers, to give the correct title.
Also MIOSH.
I am not frightened of anyone (except perhaps my missus but please don't tell her that).

Sorry firesafety - as an IOSH member I should know the difference between an Institute and being Institutionalised!
