Is there a list anywhere of all the health and safety qualifications I can gain. I'd like to keep learning new things but don't want to do any mickey mouse stuff, only recognised qualifications. I have nebosh general and fire safety risk management. My background is warehousing where we handle store and transport goods including flammables under small loads and limited quantities. We also have hgvs. Is there anything on chemicals I can do other than dgsa? Also am interested in training in workplace accidents but once again want something recognised

Hi lisar, in general terms your best bet is probably an NVQ 5 or the NEBOSH diploma depending on your learning style, in regards to other elements the list is endless. If you plan to remain with your current employer or in the same line of work I would suggest something that will benifit you both, i.e. Train the trainer in manual handling, COSHH management, behavioural and influencing or incident investigation, PTLLS, etc. all just my humble oppinion of course. Good luck with whatever you decide, John Mc.

Have you considered some of the certificated courses run for the Chartered British Occupational Hygiene Society. There is a range of modules, each covering a specific topic. These can lead ultimately to your becoming a certified occupational hygienist. Take a look at the BOHS website for details. Chris

Hi Lisa. You say you have HGV so you could look at Transport Management CPC - don't confuse this with the drivers CPC. Also I notice you have joined the Environmental & Waste Management Group, not sure why as you say your background is warehouse but if your job involves waste look at the WAMITAB level 4 Steve

I would agree going the Dip route, but also do your IOSH CPD - I would make your medium term goal the "Gold standard" of CMIOSH.

I only joined the environmental group as I have to do hazardous waste submissons etc but have no training in this field and thought at some point it may prove useful to join it
