Morning all. Just a quick query - is anyone aware of why noise induced hearing loss is not reportable?

Interesting question, it is reportable in USA. Note also asbestosis is not reportable, it is actually a very restricted list of reportable diseases.

It is interesting, yes. Still can't find out why it's not reportable though. Anyone?

Perhaps the omission is indicative of the potential scale of the problem? Perhaps hidden in an HSE drawer somehwere there's a rationale for not including this in RIDDOR - or it may be in a drawer external to HSE. Right now the answer appears to be "'Cos it isn't!" Frank Hallett
