Does any one out there supply safety over shoes for visitors coming on to their site? If so what pro's and cons have you encountered and have you carried out a risk assessment on their use? I would be very interested in your thoughts

i'm of no use to the question, but would be interested in the replies. are these items that fit on over the normal shoe of the visitor? It is just toe protection of whole foot?

Kate.

We have them. Two contradictory problems so far: people hate wearing them because they look so comical; and yet people don't always give them back when they leave! Also be aware that they won't help if people will wear high-heeled shoes (they don't even fit over them).

I can't say I've ever considered safety overshoes, but what about supplying safety wellingtons as an alternative? we do this for all visitors and it works pretty well for us, and there are safety gear suppliers who will supply their own brand safety footwear for around £10-12 a pair so cost effective as well.
