I work for a blasting and painting company servicing the oil and gas industry offshore, we have to use mechanical preparation tools for some of our works which includes grinders, we have been asked to source some low sparking grinding discs.
We have been sent a link from the procurement depart, to look at EB Diamond grinding discs by CS unitec, has anybody used these previously and do the comply with the British or OSHA standard?

You could always ask the company that you have identified provides them bar993.

If their answers are satisfactory, take a few "on spec" and evaluate them under on-shore realistic conditions.

May I just point out that an OSHA Standard is actually the US equivalent of a UK Regulation; whilst for the rest of the world, the word "Standard" usually means a BS [or local equivalent], EN BS, or ISO EN BS; all of which are generally used to support the legal requirement rather than being the legal requirement.

With that in mind, may I suggest that it would be a good idea to ensure that you know which "Standards" [their origin and actual Identification] your client is expecting you to refer to!
