Hi
Anyone know any suppliers or manufacturers that provide a type of device which would prevent employee putting their hand on a suspended load (steel beams lifted by 5 tonne Crane). They do this to 'direct' the suspended load into position???
Device in mind, would be something clamp like on the end of a short pole...
thanks

Do you mean like the things they use for litter picking ?
Or something like a window pole (for opening window latches)
Or
Why not some rope and two small plate clamps

Length of rope referred to as a 'Tag Line'. Make sure it is thick enough to grasp and won't cut into hand if pulled though.

No pictures sorry, but the use of rope (sometimes referred to as tagline) is common to guide girders. I suggested a plate clamp ( look at CZ type and locking) as a means of attaching the rope to a girder. If you have holes use those or some other feature. Depending on your connection you may be able to just tie it around the end.
There is not enough detail to help you further. Is it a steel girder ?, is it I section ( I assumed so with my suggestion)? Is it long and thin or short and stubby? Is it a high air joint or something close to the ground?
I guessed that you don’t want the operative to stand too close in case it drops, so aimed my suggestions that way.
