Some of our operatives work in drylining and have built walls on a site with a lot of water ingress. We've now been asked to remove and rebuild the walls due to large amounts of black mould. Obviously there's risk to health from mould, any suggestions on whether we should tackle this ourselves, and how, or whether best to suggest the principal contractor gets specialist contractors in.

On the same lines as a previous post; I would suggest that the adoption of a PPE/RPE standard at least equivalent to that for an asbestos notifiable non-licenced activity would be a good start.
The mould should be considered as [at least] harmful airborne respirable EH40 type substance with additional problems arising from the spores. If you research "Farmers Lung" that will give you a good idea of the hazards.
Yes, I do know that it doesn't have a WEL - but EH40 caters for this!
